As a measure of convenience to our traditional slat customers, we now offer a basic assortment of pencil components that are commonly used within the pencil industry. Components include graphite and color cores, aluminum ferrules, and eraser plugs.

Graphite cores, intended for writing and drawing, are available in HB hardness and other hardness commonly used by artists. Cores can be ordered in round shape for standard pencils or in the square form used for carpenter pencils. Pencils containing graphite core hardness gradients other than HB (#2) are available on a special order basis.

Our color cores are wax-based and available in a variety of diameters. We offer, via special order, a choice of up to 36 different colors in both Silver (mass market) and Gold (mid-range artist) quality levels. These cores offer rich, saturated colors that write smoothly while remaining strong enough to resist breaking when sharpened.

All ferrules offered by Cal Cedar are made of aluminum and are available in a variety of sizes and colors, including brass and silver. Ferrules, featuring a color band, or additional anodized color choices are available as special order items.

We offer high-quality eraser plugs for pencils to suit a variety of pencil diameters.
