California Cedar Products Company has developed a new organizational structure designed to nurture growth and organizational renewal. This change is driven by our efforts to create a new flexible, globally focused company that can support a broadening mix of products and services in an increasing number of markets. The new organization will take advantage of the interdependence and complementary nature of our multiple product lines, joint use of manufacturing facilities, raw materials and technical or administrative service capabilities despite what are broadly different end product or service markets.
This structure consists of the following four organization groups, which encompass all aspects of company operations:
Pencil Products Business Unit
The Pencil Products Business Unit is responsible for managing and developing customer relationships to meet the needs of our core customer base in the pencil, writing instrument, art supply and cosmetics industries which are the traditional customers for our slat products. This group handles all product management activities for the company's pencil slats and an expanding mix of pencil products supply and related product offerings including additional pencil components.
This group also provides manufacturing support services or management services to other strategic supply partners and to joint venture operations within CalCedar's pencil industry alliance network.
Corporate Administrative Group
This group includes our Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems and Risk Management departments, providing centralized support for all company operations. Managers and staff work in close cooperation with business unit, facility and department managers to assure appropriate support required to successfully implement key strategic initiatives and to meet the daily administrative needs of their operations.
